Garrett Brittenham: A Family tradition Part 3

1 up 4 down right?

1 up 4 down right?

At 53 years old, Garrett Brittenham has decided to take a 2nd mortgage out on his house, and cash in on the kids college fund, to buy a factory Harley Davidson XG 750 and a new van in search of the illustrious Championships, trophies, and fame and fortunes that all Flattrack racers strive for……..

But the reality of it is, Garrett Brittenham already has the Championships, the trophies, and all the crazy stories and tales from traveling across the country that many people would not believe. But he has been doing it his entire life.

XFT: Good afternoon, It is great to catch up with you. Anyone who follows your IG or Facebook can see that you have been pretty busy during this quarantine. Plus Joe ratted you out in his interview, he says you guys have been pretty busy in the garage, what’s going on?

GARRETT: Its true, we have all been working very hard on our program. I have been rebuilding/refurbishing my C&J monoshock XR 600 Honda that I have had for some time, but have not rode much. Looking to switch up the classes a little bit.

XFT: You are considered by many to be the Xtreem Flattrack Godfather of the Hooligan class. With multi #1 plates in that class, will you be defending your title?

GARRETT: I will still ride it a few times during the year I think, but it is time to give the “Love Boat” a rest. I literally ride that bike to work! It has been a great bike, and that class has been a lot of fun, but I am ready for some new challenges.

XFT: Your youngest son Sammy is moving up a class, your middle boy Joe is moving up to the pro ranks and now this. You guys should definitely have a great and interesting year once we get started. You have been doing this racing thing a long time. Do you ever remember getting started this late?

GARRETT: Not that I can remember. It is weird for me because April is always the Xtreem Flattrack Series 1/2 mile event in Waco Texas. We love that place and have had a lot of great times there, so it is weird sitting at home right now for sure.

XFT: Remember that time for the Ronnie Stratton Memorial 1/2 mile in Waco we put a $1000 bounty on your head?…..and you didn’t win?..

GARRETT: Oh man I will NEVER live that down will I? Jordan Baber was on fire that day and we had nothing for him, he earned that cash.

XFT: We always have to give you grief, even though we all know that was one of your best performances and you made everyone so very proud. It was a great race! We will get to ride there again very soon. Thanks for checking in with us and GOOD LUCK in 2020!

GARRETT: Thanks again! and as always I have to thank Leatt, Evans Coolant, ASV Inventions, Lightshoe, Moto-Gear Leathers, Vickery Motorsports for all the help they give the team and FTWCO for being with me since the beginning. I look forward to seeing everyone soon.
