Joe Brittenham: A Family tradition Part 2

Part 2 of our 3 part series “A Family tradition” brings us to Sammy’s older brother Joe. At 18 years old and with stacks of Amateur Championship Trophies, Joe is looking to make his PRO class debut in 2020.

XFT: As an 18 year old kid who is used to being out and about, hanging with friends and at racetracks this quarantine has got to be making you crazy-especially being locked down with your little brother wouldn’t you say?

JOE: HA! Surprisingly I have actually got quite a bit done while being stuck at home. The entire family has been doing a lot work in the garage. Getting geared up for this thing to start. I was really looking forward to Waco this month and the new configuration.

XFT: So what your saying is with your anticipated move to the PRO classes this year, you have been secretly trying to conceal nitrous bottles, and steel screws in your tires?….

JOE: ..And this is how rumors get started! To be honest my bike is ready to go. We had a few opportunities throughout the year to jump into the PRO classes to test the waters. I am comfortable on my bike, and don’t see the need to change anything at this stage. We just need some seat time!

XFT: We have noticed throughout the season that when the track is your style, and the conditions are right, you are as fast as any of the Pros, We think you will be just fine.

JOE: Thanks. The last race of the 2019 season at L87 Speedway was one of those weekends. High banked, tacky, and multiple racing lines made for some great racing. We were really rolling and was sad it was the last race of the season.

XFT: We suspect this will all be behind us soon, and the racing will resume. It is shaping up to be a knockout year with some busy months.

JOE: Agreed, we will continue to stay low and get ready to come out swinging. The Xtreem Flattrack series is great for us because besides I70 series and IMI there wouldn’t be much racing going on. Also, the diversity of track size and dirt in the Xtreem Series is bar none the best series to obtain the skills to be a better well rounded racer. Thanks to all my 2020 Sponsors: PapaGram Racing, Vickery Motorsports, Von Zipper, Lightshoe, Moto-Gear Leathers, FTWCO and Evans coolant.
