Treygan Tops Tri-State

The Xtreem flattrack Series rolled into the 3/8-mile Highbanks of the Mighty Tri-State Speedway in Pocola Oklahoma on May 5th for the 5th annual Steel Horse Rally Shootout and round 3 of the season, and a shootout it was.

Newcomer to the series Justin Thurman, now residing in Arkansas by way of California showed great speed getting the early holeshot in the Open Pro class and started pulling away. Treygan, after struggling slightly through practice and heat races began to find some real speed about halfway through the main event and started running a unique line that really seemed to work as he made a last lap move to get around Michael Mowery and Thurman out of turn 4 move to take the victory at the line. The Pro Singles main event was a repeat with Thurman getting the holeshot early but was passed within a few laps by Mowery and Birdsong. Michael and Treygan swapped the lead a few times but Treygan eventually pulling away to win the main by about 2 bike length over Mowery, and Brandon Pate finishing on the box. Heavily favored to win racer Gage Smith from Tulsa,Ok again suffered yet another mechanical for the 3rd race in a row and finished in the back of the pack. Treygan Birdsong is Sponsored by:
