Ronnie Jones named Grand Marshal for May 20th in Tulsa, OK

Oklahoma’s own Ronnie Jones will serve as Grand Marshal for the Industrial Air Necessities / Vinson Construction Xtreem Flattrack Series Round 4 Shorttrack at the Tulsa Speedway on May 20th.

Nicknamed as “The Flash”, Ronnie Jones started racing professionally in the 1970s Rising up through the ranks, Ronnie’s professional full time racing career lasted well into the 1990’s Ronnie had 32 podium finishes between 1980 and 1995. Despite his perennial privateer status, Jones finished inside the top ten in the Grand National Championship from 1985-1995. In 1990 and 1991, the Oklahoman finished third in the national championship, trailing only the legendary Scott Parker and Chris Carr. Five times he finished as the race runner-up at a Mile.

Ronnie still races today in some form or another, He can be found still racing and winning in the Bultaco Astro Series-and has competed at a national level and scoring points almost every year since 2009.

This is one of my personal favorite pictures of Ronnie as he took the last ever checkered flag at the legendary Ascot race park in front of over 11,000 cheering fans.-Ronnie will always be a winner in our book.”
